Music 

The church has very good acoustics and hosts a variety of concerts throughout the year from organ recitals to choral concerts organised by The Glossop Concert Society, The Glossop Choral Society, The Pennine Singers and the Glossop Festival Orchestra

rogrammes also include brass bands, jazz bands and string quartets. It has proven to be an attractive and popular venue in Glossop. The venue can be booked using a booking form on the Events page  (Click on Groups and Events on LHS of this page)

Director Of Music

                                                  

Gordon Gange has been playing violin professionally for forty two years. He has retired from a long and fascinating career with the BBC Philharmonic. In his younger days he played with the BBC Scottish and the Philharmonia Hungarica, as well as working with orchestras in Austria and Holland. He has enjoyed sharing his experiences in programme notes and pre-concert talks for the BBC. Gordon recently collaborated with Chris Binns on a much acclaimed Day School on the Music of the Russian Five.


The Singers

We are a group of people who love singing. We practice on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 pm - 8.30 pm for the following Sunday service. We also take part in special services such as Candlemass, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Harvest Festival and Christmas which is when we wear the red robes.



                                                         
The organ

The present organ was originally given to Glossop Unitarian church by The Partington family and was bought for All Saints when the church was closed in early 1980. The organ was built by Norman Beard in 1910 the design being based on the organ  at Trinity College London.

The piano

The Bechstein grand piano was donated to Glossop Parish Church of All Saints by Philip Howard Secondary School in 2012. It is used mainly for accompaniment.
