Peace and Quiet

Peace and Quiet times offer the opportunity to relax, to be still and to draw breath in the midst of your busy lives. Nothing is asked or expected of you, just an invitation to be still and to listen. A different theme is explored each time with music, poetry, readings, prayers and reflections drawn from a wide variety of resources. There are always two periods of silence, lasting about 10 minutes each, during which you may move around the church if you like or just sit quietly. There is  a leaflet which gives you the music references and some of the poetry and readings so that you can take it home for further reflection.

Peace and Quiet is offered on the third Wednesday of every month in church at 7.30pm for about an hour, led by Janet Procter, a Reader. All are welcome to come, from any church denomination or from no church! You do not need to speak to anyone if you do not wish to and the hope is that you take the stillness and peace with you as you leave.

As November is the month of remembering, the November 19th Peace and Quiet will explore gently our common experience of loss. With music, poetry and prose readings and silence for personal reflection, it offers a space and a time to acknowledge our feelings and to be encouraged along the road to be travelled through loss and bereavement. Nothing is asked of you. You do not even have to speak to anyone. Please invite anyone you know who may find this helpful. All welcome.
