Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults

Glossop Parish Church has robust policies developed nationally by the Church of England and promoted by the Diocese of Derby.

Protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of us all, whether they live in our communities or are part of our Christian family. It is central to the Gospel that we care for all those in need and, at the same time, make our churches a safe place of sanctuary for those looking for help and support.  Achieving a balance between those who pose a risk to others and those who have already been harmed, can be difficult sometimes and the Diocese has developed a range of measures to support and help achieve high standards in safeguarding.  The Diocese works in partnership with statutory agencies (where needed) to ensure that congregations are safe and that parishes act within the law and good practise guidelines for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
